Let me ask you a simple question. What is a blog? In my opinion, a blog is a personal statement or diary, a chance for the blogger to express their interests, frustrations or even an area of expertise in a particular subject.

Whatever the reasons for writing a blog, one thing is for sure, blogging IS big business. Big enough in fact for some of the worlds largest companies, (both on and off-line) to be interested in creating them.

“But Why?” I hear you ask.

Because believe it or not, “there is money in them there blogging hills.” Companies are starting to realize that there is a huge blog reading audience across cyberspace, and their popularity is increasing daily. The majority of blog readers are information seekers, who crave the intimacy of a blog.

So by tapping into this intimacy, companies can easily gain the trust of the info seeker simply by offering them content that provides value. Of course this is just part of a well constructed master plan, a pre-sell technique.

It’s a simple plan but very effective, the idea is to;

● Gain Trust
● Be seen as an authority figure
● Pre-sell
● Sell

It might be seen as a underhand way of doing things, but it works, and business is business, it’s nothing personal.

Blog empires are spawning at a rapid rate across the internet or blogosphere as it is known, and it’s not just the companies that are taking advantage either. Many affiliate marketers create blogs as a way of promoting their products. The most popular method of promotion is to use the blog as a product review page.

The idea is to write an emotive story/review and include links back to the products sale page. If done correctly, it is a cost effective way of getting traffic to the site.

Affiliate marketers also use blogs as a middle man in their article marketing campaigns. The reason why is simple. Many article directories frown upon the usage of affiliate links. So the easy way around this is to send the potential customer to a blog first, include links in the blog to the sales page and voilà.

The power that a blog has for the internet marketer, if used correctly is limitless. It’s versatility and ease of use are second to none. So if you are seriously considering setting up an on-line business of any kind, then don’t forget to include the humble blog in your plans, because it really can be a marketers best friend.

One of the biggest and most talked about benefits of working online is that start up costs can be kept to a minimum. This does not mean that spending money on an online business is impossible, but if you are looking to start a business with a small amount of capital, you will definitely want to consider this. You do not have to be rich or have access to a lot of venture capital to make money online. Of course, you do need other things on your side if you are going to reach a high level of success.

How much money do you need to start making money online? This is not going to be the same number across the board. You may only need a few bucks to get started, but somebody else may use thousands. It all depends on the type of business that you want to start, as well as how fast you want it to grow. As you can imagine, you can pump a lot of money into advertising your online business. There is nothing wrong with this, but it will cost you more money than somebody who slowly builds their site.

If you want to keep costs as low as possible, you do not need to buy anything more than a domain name and hosting. You can get both of these things for a total of $75 or less. A domain name should not cost anymore than $10 in most cases, and reliable hosting can be had for approximately $60 per year, or $5 per month. Once you have both of these things in place, it is up to you to take care of everything else.

Of course, a domain name is not going to do you any good on its own. You need to develop your site in order to make something of it. Once again, this may or may not cost you a lot of money. For instance, you may know a bit about site design so you will not have to hire anybody. If this is not the case, you may want to pay some money for a unique design. Of course, you could always go the free route and use the same template as other webmasters.

One last thing to keep in mind is that you should budget and track all of your startup costs. If you know that you have $100 to spend, you will do a much better job getting what you want for cheap, while also ensuring that you do not go overboard. Once you reach your budget, it is time to develop your site until more money frees up.

Overall, you can make money online with a minimal amount of start up funding. Some of the biggest and most profitable sites on the net started with nothing more than a domain name and the cost of hosting. Regardless of what some people think, you do not need a lot of money to make money; especially if you are willing to work online

Are you looking for a way to make plenty of money online? There is one opportunity that you should consider if you answered yes to this question: start a membership site. Does this mean that a membership site will automatically bring money into your life? Definitely not. But if you know what you are doing and are willing to put in the necessary time, you can cash in on one of these sites.

What makes a membership site so special? Generally speaking, it is the fee structure that allows owners of these sites to make so much cash. Most membership site owners charge each member a set fee each month. For instance, you may decide to charge $20 per month to have access to PLR products, content, etc. While that may not sound like a lot of money on the surface, what if you would recruit 100 members? All of a sudden you are making $2,000 per month by offering the same service to each member.

Of course, you need to know what your membership site is going to concentrate on before you get started. There are a couple different options if you have yet to come up with a topic. First off, as mentioned above, you can offer some sort of PLR product to your members. PLR article sites are common, and they allow each member to download the same sets of articles.

You may also want to look into a membership site that is based on teaching a particular subject. These have become more popular as of late, and are still picking up steam. An example of one of these sites would be one that teaches members how to improve their copywriting skills. In order to be a success with this business model, you need to have a special skill that you can teach, as well as one that people are going to want to learn.

If you are convinced that a membership site is a quality money maker, it is time to get started. To make things easy on yourself, you will want to consider setting up a website that will allow members to login into a “backend.” This way all you have to do is upload the content. It is then up to the member to sign in and take advantage of what they are paying for.

Overall, a membership site is a great way to make money. These take time and dedication to start, but once you get the ball rolling you may be surprised at how much success you have. And when your member base grows, so does the amount of money that you earn each month. Are you ready to take on this money making strategy?

To increase your online income, you may want to think about adding to your revenue streams. One of the easiest ways to do this is to start new websites or blogs. While some people feel that spreading yourself thin is a bad idea, this is not always something to be scared of. After all, you may have more than enough time to add additional blogs to your workload. By having a blog network generating revenue, you will be able to increase your income soon enough.

Of course, starting a blog network is not quite as simple as it sounds. Before you do this, make sure that you ask yourself the three questions below.

1. Do I have the time to handle more than one blog? Owning more than one blog is simple, but updating the content and marketing each one is anything but. If you are going to start a blog network, you need to make sure that you have the time to devote to each site. Remember, if you do not put time into making each blog a success, you cannot expect to see any return in the way of profits.

2. What topics are you going to use in building your blog network? Many people decide to stay in the niche that they are comfortable with, whereas other want to mix things up a bit. For instance, you may have a blog on internet marketing. If this is the case, you could decide to start another blog on offline marketing tips. Or, you could move away from this topic altogether and start blogging about sports. This is a very important detail to consider if you are going to start or expand a blog network.

3. Do I feel comfortable hiring help if need be? If your new blog network becomes a success, there is going to be a time when you need to hire help to assist with content creation, design, customer service, and other details. While you may not have to deal with this early on, over time it could become reality.

By answering the three questions above, you will have a better idea as to what it takes to start and run a blog network. If you think that you are up for it, there is nothing wrong with starting a few new blogs and seeing where it takes you. On the other hand, if you are having any doubts, you will want to sure up your plan before moving forward.

As you can see, a blog network can help to increase your income if done right. Sure, it will take some time for your new blogs to take off, but in the end things will work out if you are devoted to the overall success of your network.

Making money online has a lot to do with the topics that you get involved with. The niche that you choose should be one that you enjoy. With that being said, you should also think about finding one that is not overly competitive. Of course, every niche is going to have competition. But believe it or not, many of them are not nearly as saturated as you may think. When you can find a popular niche that has not been overdone, you will have a much better chance of making money early on.

The question is: how are you going to choose the best niche? There are many details that you can look at, as well as steps to follow in order to ensure your success in this area.

1. Make a list of 10 topics that are of interest to you. Remember, the more topics that you have to choose from, the better chance you have of narrowing it down to one niche that suits your every need. Take your time when collecting topics so that you do not miss one that you enjoy.

2. Once you have your list of topics, it is time to find out how much demand there is for each one. You can do this by simply typing the name of your topic into a search engine. This will show you how many results there are. In addition to this, make sure that you also use a keyword tool to make sure that people are actually interested in your niche. You may find a niche that does not have a lot of competition, but if nobody is interested, you will have a difficult time making money.

3. Compare and contrast each topic on your list. If some of them are overly competitive, cross them off. Remember, you have 10 topics at hand for a reason. Some of them are going to get knocked off early on. As you compare and contrast, you should get a better idea as to which niche will suit you best.

A niche with less competition is one that you should be able to dominate more easily. Of course, you will not be the only one trying to make money from a particular topic. Your goal should be to find a nice that meets the following specifications:

1. A niche that you enjoy. If you like what you are working on you will have a better chance of making money.

2. A niche that does not have too much competition. By choosing a less popular topic, you will not have to jump over nearly as many competitors on your way to the top.

3. A niche that has the opportunity to make you some money. Simply put, there are some topics that are going to be more profitable than others.

Overall, be very careful when choosing the niche for your next website. You want to make sure that you get involved with a niche that fits the guidelines above. If you do, you will have the best chance of financial success.
